Scrawlings of a Distracted Mind

Did you ever have to keep a journal for a school assignment? They called it a "journal" because there's probably laws against forcing a boy to keep a diary. But a school assignment where you're supposed to keep a blog is pretty much the same thing. It's always interesting to go back and read some of those diary journal entries that you wrote when you were younger. Prattlings so full of hope, promise, and grievous spellling errors.

Being an art student, my journal entries always came with doodles. Of course my drawings made their way on to all manner of surfaces: homework, the desk, the neck of the guy that sat in front of me...

  2. English as a language doesn't reward good spellers. Once a year our most respected linguists decide on a few choice slang words to add to the common vernacular. Unlike a language like Hebrew which is built to stand the test of time and in fact has outlived the people that spoke it. :-)
